Your senior year is a once-in-a-lifetime season, and your senior portraits should feel just as special. I’m a senior photographer based near Mount Pleasant, Iowa, capturing natural, timeless portraits for seniors, couples, and elopements throughout Southeast Iowa. My goal is to make your sessions fun, relaxed, and completely personalized.
From the very first message to holding your finished products in your hands, my goal is to make your senior session feel easy, personal, and genuinely enjoyable.
Here’s what a senior session with me looks like—from start to finish.
Step 1: Inquiring & Getting to Know Each Other
Your senior photography experience begins when you reach out—whether that’s through my website, Instagram, Facebook, email, or text. Next, we’ll chat about what you’re envisioning for your session.
We’ll talk about:
- Time of year for your session
- Whether you want one session or both a spring and fall session
- Locations, style, and overall vibe
Every senior is different, and I love helping you plan something that feels like you.
Step 2: Booking Your Senior Session
Then, once we choose a date, your session is officially booked! I’ll send you:
- An invoice
- A contract
- My Senior Session Guide
- A short questionnaire
The session guide walks you through exactly what to expect, including planning tips, outfit ideas, and how to prepare. The questionnaire helps me get to know you better before we ever meet, so your session feels comfortable and customized..
Step 3: Planning Outfits, Locations & Products
Additionally, before your session, you can ask me all the questions. I’m always happy to help narrow down outfit choices, talk locations, and make sure you feel confident going into your session.

Bring as many outfits as you’d like so we can capture all sides of your personality.
Also, we’ll start talking about products early on—things like prints, wall art, and graduation announcements—so nothing feels rushed later.
Serving Seniors Across Southeast Iowa
While I’m based near Mount Pleasant, Iowa, I work with seniors from Wayland, Washington, Fairfield, Winfield, Iowa City, Burlington, and many surrounding small towns and school districts.
In addition, travel within 45 miles of Wayland, Iowa is included in your session fee. Travel beyond that is always welcome for an additional fee.

Step 4: Your Senior Session Day
On the day of your session, the fun really begins.
Your senior session is relaxed, upbeat, and centered around you. We’ll play your favorite music, laugh a lot, and capture images that feel natural and true to who you are—no awkward posing required.
I want your session to feel less like a photoshoot and more like hanging out while creating really beautiful images.
Step 5: Sneak Peeks & Editing
First, within 48 hours of your session, you’ll receive sneak peeks so you can start sharing and getting excited right away.
Then, I carefully go through your gallery and edit my favorites. My editing style stays very true to color, with a mix of timeless black-and-white images included as well.
Step 6: Your Reveal & Ordering Experience
After your senior session, I’ll carefully edit your images and deliver your full proofing gallery via email. From there, you’ll be able to view your photos at your own pace and select your favorites for your included full-resolution digital images.
Once your favorites are chosen, you’ll also have the option to order additional digital images, prints, albums, and other professional products directly from your gallery. There’s no pressure and no rush — take your time deciding what you love most.
If you ever need help narrowing things down or want guidance on what images work best for prints or wall art, I’m always just an email away and happy to help.
Your senior session includes:
- 20 fully edited, retouched, high-resolution digital images
- A print credit to use toward products
Available products include:
- Professional prints
- Matted and framed prints
- Canvases
- Wallets
- Graduation cards
Afterward, your finished products will either be delivered straight to your door or arranged for pickup.
