The Shroyer Family | East Lake Park Family Session | Mt. Pleasant, Iowa Family Photographer

I had the best time photographing the Shroyer family at East Lake Park in Mt. Pleasant, Iowa. The weather couldn’t have been more perfect—warm sunshine, a soft breeze, and the kind of golden light that makes every photo glow.

With five kiddos, there was so much laughter and energy during this session! Each one brought their own personality to the photos, and they made it so easy to capture those genuine smiles and sweet connections. I love when families can just relax, have fun, and let those real moments unfold—and the Shroyers did exactly that.

While we were there, I also took a few professional headshots for dad. They own and run a local dental office in Mt. Pleasant, and I recently found out that they printed one of their family photos on canvas and hung it behind the front desk. Hearing that absolutely made my day! They told me they’ve always wanted to have a family photo there, and now they finally do. I love knowing that clients walking into their office get to see that beautiful reminder of what matters most.

Sessions like this are exactly why I love being a family photographer in Southeast Iowa—capturing real, joyful moments for kind-hearted families and then seeing those images proudly displayed in their homes (and sometimes their businesses!) is truly the best feeling.
